Tom Stoltz makes these beautiful #4 highrail turnouts. The workmanship is fantastic. I see a lot of potential with these. They use the same footprint at the American Models turnouts but the throwbar is not in the exact location as the AM turnouts. The Rail is .148".

If you use Tortoise switch machines you will have to beef up the throw wire to a .045 wire due to the increased tension needed. If you use a ground throw or boden wire throw it will not be an issue.

Tom cuts insulating gaps in the throwbar.
This unique little insert allows both scale and highrail weelsets to negotiate the frogs. Here you can see the workmanship of the rails.   You will have to electrically isolate and wire the frog points with a DPDT contact. The instructions document the wiring.
Here you a can see the long set of points. I have found a place on my layout to add these and will be documenting the installation as time permits. I will be using cork roadbed and OldPullman spikes to install, pre-drilling all of the holes in the ties.
